Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd Recreate Iconic ‘The Office’ Moment
The country music couple took to the historic blazing waterfalls and couldn't help but pay homage to one of TV's favorite couples, Jim Halpert and Pam Beesly. Hurd shares a photo on Instagram that shows he and his wife donning blue "Maid of the Mist" ponchos—he gently rests his arm around her while Morris gleefully looks off into the distance.
"JIM/PAM MOMENT #maidofthemist #niagarafalls," Hurd captioned the shot, nodding to the iconic scene in The Office when Jim and Pam ditch their planned church wedding in Niagara to elope on the Maid of the Mist. The scene is accompanied by a montage of their co-workers, family and friends dancing down the aisle to Chris Young's "Forever" after they return to the church.
Hurd recently released his new song "To a T" that features a vocal appearance from Morris and may appear on his upcoming album. Morris herself is also hard at work on a new project, describing it as a step in a new direction while still staying true to her roots.
"I'm kind of getting out of my comfort zone on this next record, but I'm still writing with a lot of the same friends of mine that were on the first. That kind of shapes the sound for me," she explains to Zane Lowe of Beats 1. "So it's a little bit of everything, but still really rooted in country, where I'll always be."
The new album, which has no release date yet, will follow her critically acclaimed debut Hero and the massive success she's earned with her breakthrough hit "The Middle" with Zedd and Grey. The song has reached No. 1 on nine different charts spanning the world from the U.S. to Singapore. Her current single "Rich" is currently in the Top 15 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart.
