New Owners for Popular Area Resort
Opening a new business can be a scary venture. Purchasing an established business can be even more daunting.
New owners of Old Barn Resort, Eric Brenna and Travis Dundore, seem to have everything under control. "The Barn" was previously owned by Shirley Endres and Doug Brenna (Eric's dad and Travis' father-in-law). When it came time to "pass the torch," Shirley and Doug approached Travis and Eric about purchasing the family business. About a year ago, Eric, his wife Rhiannon, and his son Kaiden, as well as Travis, his wife Jennifer and children Jovie and Grayer, left their homes and jobs in the Twin Cities area to work at 'The Barn' and prepare to take ownership. As of May 6, 2016, the business is theirs!
Located between Preston and Lanesboro, the scenery surrounding 'The Barn' is the perfect setting for their 276-site campground, with a fifty-two-person seasonal wait list.
Like to golf? Try their 18-hole River's Bend Golf Course. A heated swimming pool is available to guests and is also open to the public. Their menu features a variety of burgers, salads, steak and delicious hand-battered chicken strips. Why Not Wednesday offers lip-smackin'-good buck-a-bone ribs. The service is fast and friendly. The restaurant and bar are open year round, seven days a week during summer months. A party room and 38-bed hostel are also available.
Travis and Eric have no plans to "reinvent the wheel." The community likes what they offer, campers and golfers are happy. No changes are planned, perhaps just some enhancements to what is already working and working well.
