Sign up to Ring Bells for the Rochester Salvation Army!
That's us (Santa Mark, Jessica, me, Santa Anne, and Tom) after ringing the Plummer Building Bells for the Rock the Red Kettle Kickoff on Saturdays. Woulds you like to ring bells this season? Here's how to do it.
Some families have been ringing bells for the Salvation Army for years and years. It's part of their tradition of giving. But sometimes, it's not your family that does it, but your work family...
Every year my co-workers have a lunch party at work, then go ring around Rochester, two of us at 5 different kettles. Then, at 5, we meet for a happy hour! Better than any work Christmas Party I've been to,.
Plus, all the money stays here to help with local Salvation Army programs...

- Utility Assistance

HOW DO I VOLUNTEER?
It is SO easy. See that picture there to the left? Click it. Then on the left side of the Salvation Army page, just tell 'em what date, what city, and where you'd like to ring.
Simple. In, out, no mussin' about.
Who do you ring with? You can do it on your own, but it's way more fun with family or friends. A lot of people volunteer with people at work, and get to know each other better. Bosses...you'll find it improves moral, since everyone's working together to help people in our community. And heck, you get to know your employees better, too.
What about music? Great! Christmas music on a boom-box, singing, a guitar, a harmonica...bring 'em and remember, little kids are super sweet and really get people to donate.
No pets tho, please.
In this season of doing nice things for each other, what if we stopped making fun of the way people look?
