Rochester, MN  (KROC-AM News) - Some much needed rain fell across southeastern Minnesota Sunday night but storm cells also produced strong winds and hail in some areas.

The National Weather Service received reports of hail measuring 3/4ths of an inch south of Rochester and one inch hailstones fell in the Dover area.  There was a report of inch and half hail in the Hayfield area.

Rainfall totals ranged from a tenth of an inch in northern Olmsted County to more than an inch and a half in parts of Mower County. Nearly seven-tenths of an inch fell at the Rochester airport but only a third was measured at the Mayo helipad at St. Mary’s Hospital.

It appears more rain will fall this week, which may help ease the moderate drought conditions reported across a large part of southern Minnesota.
