According to the report, shoppers repeatedly said in 2023 that they needed more convenience from retailers, and the brands that focused on convenience were successful.

Continuing its reign as the world’s largest retailer, Walmart maintained its top ranking with a robust online marketplace and a range of new financial resources for shoppers, according to NRF. Additionally, the retailer’s Walmart+ media platform continues to expand outside the U.S.

These new tools, which have been particularly effective in Mexico and Chile, make online shopping accessible for lower-income shoppers and offer them new ways to manage their budgets.
