One of Minnesota’s most beloved breweries is getting ready to pour its last pint. As the final days draw near, loyal fans are raising their glasses one more time to say goodbye to a place that’s brewed more than just beer—it’s brewed memories.

We'd heard last month that one longtime brewery here in the North Star State says it will soon be putting the pint glasses on the shelf for the final time and closing permanently-- and now that final day is apparently drawing near.

I've been a big fan of the incredible craft beer industry and all the great local breweries across our state for years now. One of the favorite things my wife and I like to do is to hit up a local craft brewery and try a couple of the handcrafted beers each brewery creates-- and there are a lot of them to try.

As we know, Minnesota is the Land of 10,000 Lakes, but we're also the Land of 237 Craft Breweries. Because that's roughly how many incredible local, independent breweries were operating in 2024, according to the Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild.

But, sadly, there will soon be one less brewery here in the Bold North, as a popular brewery just announced that it is down to its final days in business. That's the sad word from Alloy Brewing Company in Coon Rapids, which first posted the news about its closing in a post on its Facebook page in late June.

The announcement said the business was facing 'rising costs, supply chain hurdles, and an incredible decrease in sales over the last three years,' all of which made it 'increasingly difficult to operate sustainably,' it said.

The post noted that Alloy Brewing would pour its final pint in mid-July. And now that date is rapidly approaching. The brewery, which first opened its doors in 2017 in a repurposed mechanics garage in Coon Rapids, hosted its last big party on Saturday, July 12th.

Another post on its Facebook page noted the brewery and tap room would still be open on Sunday, July 13th. However, no additional information has been posted on whether or not that was its official last day in business or not. And no other dates have been listed on its calendar after July 13th. So, it may already be history. If so, thanks for the memories, staff and crew at Alloy Brewing! Thanks for your efforts over the years!

Speaking of Minnesota breweries, there are still many others that are still brewing some amazing beer and other beverages, as well. Keep scrolling to check out the 25 highest-rated breweries that call the North Star State home!

25 Highest-Rated Breweries in Minnesota

To help you discover some of the best local brews, Stacker put together a list of Minnesota's top-rated breweries based on Tripadvisor data. Tripadvisor's rankings are a mix of several factors, including overall rating, user reviews, and page traffic. This means that even a brewery with a perfect 5 out of 5 rating might be outranked by one with a 4 out of 5 if it has more reviews or higher visibility.
