Another Crash At Notorious Rochester Intersection
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester woman was injured in a three-vehicle traffic crash Wednesday at an intersection that has been the scene of numerous accidents over the years.
The State Patrol says a small SUV driven by 61-year-old Ruth Twitt was southbound on 60th Ave NW at the Highway 14 intersection when she collided with two westbound vehicles around 5:30 pm. She was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The accident report indicates alcohol was involved.
No other injuries were reported.
One of the other vehicles was driven by 58-year-old Patty Whitehurst of Elysian, who had two passengers with her. The third vehicle was driven by 43-year-old Richard Decker of Byron. A 7-year-old boy was a passenger in his vehicle.
Improvements aimed at eliminating accidents at the intersection located on the rural west side of Rochester are being planned.
