After nearly 40 years in radio, including the last 12 as the host of the Quick Country 96.5 morning show, Alan Reed has decided to hang up his headphones and pursue another career. In this video, Reed shares his plans and heartfelt thanks.

Reed first took to the microphone on June 1, 1976, as a newly-graduated 18-year-old kid at KAUS in Austin. Over the course of his career Reed worked for just about every radio station in the Rochester area.

Reed credits his love of radio and the radio business to many people and says he has thoroughly enjoyed his time on-air, thanks in so many ways to the listeners for whom he has become a daily part of life.

Reed will be on-air through Friday, April 29. After that, he will taking on the venture of starting his own home inspection company.

All of us here wish Alan Reed all the best as he moves from radio to other pursuits and we thank him for his sharing his time, talent and efforts to make Quick Country 96.5 great!

Be sure to tune into Reed's morning show to find out more about his plans and enjoy his radio wit and wisdom while you still can!
