Iowa Brew Now Known As World’s Best Beer!
Alright beer lovers, want to know where you can get the world's best beer? Apparently, it's brewed a state away over in Hawkeye Nation.
Beauty is in the eye of the beer-holder, am I right? I mean, everyone has their opinion, and that is why this company created an algorithm to take the opinions of beer fanatics worldwide and turn them into a ranking system to find the best of the best!
According to the website, RateBeer has offered an online space for beer enthusiast to give their opinions for 24 years - hundreds of thousands of members from more than 100 countries have rated hundreds of thousands of different beers around the world.
When checking out RateBeer's Top 50 Beers worldwide, I immediately recognized the very familiar label of the number one beer.

I've had some dang good beer from the brewer behind the world's best beer. I have yet to visit the actual brewery, but you can find their beer just about anywhere now. I'm talking about Toppling Goliath in Decorah, Iowa!

This beer is the real McCoy. Barrel aged and crammed with coffee, none other will stand in it’s way. Sought out for being delicious, it is notoriously difficult to track down. If you can find one, shoot to kill, because it is definitely wanted... dead or alive. - RateBeer.
And actually, Toppling Goliath made an impressive appearance with two brews in the top 5. Taking the number 4 slot as well with their Mornin' Delight.
I did see at least one distinctive Minnesota beer on the list. Coming in at number 41, one of my husband's faves, Surly Darkness. To see the entire list, click here.
More about Toppling Goliath Brewing Company - it was founded in 2009. According to their website, they now distribute in 30 states and create more than 40 beers that rotate throughout the year. Bravo to them!
And apparently this isn't the first time the Kentucky Brunch has been named the world's best. According to their website, it has held the world's best title since 2015! Impressive!
