While it's still an uphill battle for little baby McKenna Hovenga, she at least began showing her first signs of consciousness on Wednesday.

It's been one week since the two month old was accidentally struck by an overthrown softball at her father's game, but signs are at least pointing in the right direction according to her mother this morning on McKenna's Facebook page:

Having suffered numerous hour-long seizures from the get-go after arriving at St. Mary's Hospital, she was mostly seizure-free through the weekend, but sadly had four seizures Wednesday morning that lasted 1-2 minutes each...

According to other updates from her Healing For McKenna page, a CT scan recently showed two areas of brain damage, but the bleeding around her brain had stopped. While these recent signs are certainly encouraging, this little one's fight is far from over. I'm just thankful she's surrounded by the best doctors and nurses in the world!

If you'd like to help out McKenna's family, there's a YouCaring fundraiser account set-up where you can donate to their ever growing medical expenses. As of this morning, the page has raised over $50,000!

The family has also shared their address if you'd like to send them other things like card, clothes, blankets or toys: "Healing for McKenna" PO Box 308 Shell Rock, Iowa USA 50670. E-gift cards may also be sent to healingformckenna@gmail.com

This little one is a fighter, and I'm praying she continues to heal quickly so she can finally go home!
