Check Your Eggs If You Bought Them From This Rochester Store
If you do most of your grocery shopping at Walmart here in Rochester, you might want to do a close inspection in your fridge when you get home. That’s because there is a massive nationwide recall of over 200 million eggs that are possibly contaminated with salmonella.
Rose Acre Farms, whose eggs can be found at Walmart Stores (and Food Lion, wherever and whatever that is) is having a voluntary recall of eggs after 22 cases of salmonella have been reported. While most of the affected eggs were distributed to Colorado, Florida, and the East Coast, it still might be worth checking your carton if you have Rose Acre Farm eggs.
The potentially contaminated eggs are from plant number P-1065 with the Julian date range of 011 through 102 printed on either side of the carton or package. You can also return them to the place of purchase for a full refund, so it’s probably a good idea to not use them at all to be on the safe side.
Why is that? Because salmonella can cause deadly infections, and often leads to fever, diarrhea, nausea, puking, and stomach pain. Not too fun!
