Minnesota Costco Shoppers Are Excited About This Comeback

If you're a Costco member in Minnesota, there's good news this week, as the retail club just brought back a fan favorite food item after years of requests.

The very first Costco store opened over 40 years ago, on September 15, 1983, in Seattle, Washington. However, the Costco Wholesale store we know today came about in 1993 after a merger with Price Club, a chain based in San Diego that pioneered the warehouse-club concept that Costco would later adopt.

How Many Costco Locations Are There in Minnesota?

Closer to home, the first modern Costco Wholesale warehouse store in Minnesota opened on October 4, 2000, in St. Louis Park. So just how many Costco warehouse stores are there in the Land of 10,000 Lakes in 2026? Well, with the addition of the newest Costco warehouse, which opened in Chaska in late 2024, Costco says there are now 13 locations currently operating across Minnesota in the following cities:

New Costco Warehouse Opening in Otsego, Minnesota

Given our state's current population of about 5.8 million people, that means Minnesota has roughly one Costco location for every 414,000 residents. And in a story I wrote about earlier this summer, the newest Costco, under construction in Otsego, Minnesota, is now just days away from opening its doors, which is set to happen on August 14, 2026.

And according to this Parade story, Costco has just brought back a fan favorite that disappeared from its shelves over 3 years ago: Kirkland Cinnamon Raisin Bagels, which the story said are extremely popular-- and don't stay on those shelves very long.

Costco Brings Back Kirkland Cinnamon Raisin Bagels

This Warehouse Runner story notes that these breakfast favorites have been confirmed at 605 Costco Warehouse locations, though it's not known if any of those are in Minnesota as of yet. It says that these 'soft, chewy bagels with a warm, cinnamon spice and plump raisins throughout the dough are baked fresh in-warehouse,' and are currently priced at $4.99 per package.

Parade also notes that in addition to bringing back this fan favorite, Costco also Costco recently transitioned its bagel lineup from 12-count multipacks to individual 8-count packages, with varieties including cinnamon raisin, plain, Asiago cheese, and everything.
