It's feeling more like fall everyday. The last few weeks of summer, a crisp chill in the morning air, talk of back-to-school and Friday night lights, it's all right around the corner.

Fun fact, Daylight Saving Time (DST) was first introduced in the United States during World War I to conserve coal used for heating homes. It was initially unpopular and quickly abolished. However, it was reinstated in the 1960s and revised in 2005.

While most states still follow DST, some, like Minnesota, are pushing to get rid of the time change altogether. Personally, I'm all for locking the clock and doing away with the biannual time shift. Spring kicks my butt every single year.

Until then, I'll enjoy that extra snooze that comes with the fall time change. Unfortunately, the trade-off is shorter days and earlier sunsets, which means it’s time to cozy up and embrace the long nights ahead. Followed by the inevitable...

When Do We Turn Back Our Clocks?

Daylight Saving Time ends on the first Sunday of November. For 2024, that date is November 3rd at 2:00 AM, when clocks will be set back one hour.
