Every Pet Owner has one and it Could Make You Really Sick
How often do you wash your pet's food and water bowls? Probably not often enough! The product testing company just did a germ test on 22 items regularly found in people's houses and found that pet food dishes are nasty! Veterinarian Dr. Jessica Vogelsang told iheartdogs.com that the residue left behind can result in bacteria like E. coli and Salmonella living in food bowls. As your dog eats it he or she is likely to track the germs all around your house.
To prevent you or your dog from getting sick, experts suggest switching to stainless steel or ceramic bowls, and washing them every single day in a dishwasher or with soap and hot-water.
This warning applies to both wet and dry food.
