Extra Caffeine: Rochester Soon to Be Home to Another Coffee Shop
If you love a good cup of java, you'll soon have another place to get one in Rochester.
Waking up at 3:35 every morning to head in to get ready for the morning show really makes me appreciate what a good cup of strong coffee can do for you. And, there will soon be another place in Rochester to get some extra caffeine.
That's because ANOTHER chain known for selling its coffee (and other caffeinated products) will be going up soon in a busy area of northwest Rochester, along West Circle Drive near Costco.
We happen to live a little over a mile and a half away from that area and in just the last nine years we've lived here, the development near Costco along Commerce Drive has been amazing. In fact, when we moved to Rochester, NONE of those businesses were there-- it was just an empty field. But that has changed, and more development is on the way.
Jeff Kiger over at the Post Bulletin has the story about how that empty parcel of land at 2407 Commerce Drive NW between The Tap House West End and First Alliance Credit Union will soon to home to a new, freestanding Starbucks Coffee store.
North Rock Real Estate of Rochester confirmed the plans on their Facebook page earlier this week, while Kiger noted that groundbreaking is set for next week on the new store, which is also the location that was once set to be home to a new IHOP franchise, though those plans fell apart during the pandemic.
Of course, if you're looking for coffee right now, though, there's already a Moka Espresso Coffee and Tea location nearby, along with a Dunkin store, Caribou Coffee, and Kwik Trip as well.
And, if you're as amazed at how that area has changed as much as I am, keep scrolling to see how much other areas of Rochester have changed as well-- and see if you remember what the Med City used to look like!
