Five Minnesotans Now on World Billionaires List in 2025

Here in Minnesota, we're known for our 10,000 Lakes, but these Minnesotans are once again making waves in a much bigger pool: the world billionaire club. Here's who made the exclusive list this year.

I'm just going out on a limb here, but I'm guessing these five Minnesota residents probably aren't too concerned with import car prices that are set to increase due to tariffs. They're likely not concerned with any other increases, like the cost of eggs or gasoline that have been caused by inflation, either. That's because they're some of the richest people in the world.

And while only five Minnesotans made the Forbes billionaires list again this year, they're in some pretty good company, and more of it. Overall, Forbes said there are 247 more billionaires in the world this year than there were in last year. And, together, these individuals are 'richer than ever, worth $16.1 trillion in total—up nearly $2 trillion over 2024,' Forbes also said.

Here in the Bold North, our five entrants on the Forbes world billionaires list this year have a combined net worth of just under 10 billion dollars. So, yeah, they're doing okay these days. So just which fellow Minnesotans made this exclusive list this year?

Topping the list would be the (apparently) soon-to-be former owner of the Minnesota Timberwolves (NBA) and Lynx (WNBA), Glenn Taylor. He also partly owns the Minnesota United FC Loons (MSL), the Minnesota Star Tribune, as several other ventures.

Taylor is once again the richest person in the entire North Star State with a net worth of 2.9 billion, according to Forbes. While that's certainly impressive, he's ranked at #1188 on the Forbes list this year, down several places from last year.
