Four Doses of Narcan Needed To Revive Rochester Area Drug User
Stewartville, MN (KROC-AM News) - It may have been a first for Rochester-area drug users.
A man described as homeless had to be given four doses of Narcan to overcome an apparent strong overdose of a drug.
Olmsted County deputies were called to Stewartville around 8:00 PM Tuesday and found the man still in a vehicle. He had been revived by friends who gave him the Narcan, which is administered to people suffering from an opioid overdose.
It’s not known what drug the 25-year-old man had taken.
Sheriff’s Office Capt. Scott Behrns says the man was taken to St. Marys Hospital to be checked out and later transferred to the detox center. Behrns says the man is a known drug user. Records show he had a Winona address and was put on probation about a month ago for a drug-related conviction.
Behrns says he has never heard of a person receiving four doses of Narcan.
