It might not even be Halloween yet, but if you can't wait to get into the spirit of the holiday season, a new movie filmed over in Wisconsin made its TV premiere and will soon be streaming!

Minnesota Has Been Home To Lots of Movies and TV Shows

Here in Minnesota, we're used to the Land of 10,000 Lakes being the setting for various movies and TV shows. 90's movies like The Mighty Ducks (which was set here in Minnesota but mainly filmed in Hollywood) and Grumpy Old Men (which was set in Wabasha but was filmed in parts of St. Paul and Lake Rebecca in Rockford, northwest of the Twin Cities) put Minnesota on the map back in the day.

More recently, movies like 'The Christmas Listing' (filmed in Isanti) and 'Merry Kiss Cam' and  'Rescuing Christmas,' (both filmed in Duluth) have been featured on platforms like Lifetime and Hulu, while the independent movie 'Sold Out' (set in and filmed in the Twin Cities) debuted back in 2021 and is still streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

New Christmas Movie Filmed in Wisconsin’s Door County Premieres on TV

And now comes the latest holiday movie filmed in our neck of the woods. This one is called 'A Wisconsin Christmas Pie' and the Green Bay Press-Gazette reports that it was filmed in Wisconsin's Door County over several weeks in March and April of this spring. It premiered on Great American Family on Saturday, October 11th.

Here's how Great American Family describes the plot of the film:

Pastry chef Emma Parker (Katie Leclerc) returns from Chicago to her family’s cherry orchard in Door County, Wisconsin, for Christmas and learns the farm is on the brink of being sold to developers. Persuaded to enter the town’s holiday pie bake-off, Emma reconnects with her high school sweetheart, Mitch (Ryan Carnes), and together they discover the recipe for saving the orchard – and their hearts – might just be love.

Great American Family notes that while the movie has already aired on its TV network, it will be available to stream live on Great American Pure Flix beginning October 16th. You can watch the trailer for the movie below.
