So how much do you spend on your sweetheart for Valentine’s Day?  Well, according to a study by offer.com, last year the average person spent $131 on Valentine's Day—that’s up from $126 the year before. This year, 22 % of shoppers say they plan to spend even more, while 60% say they’ll spend the same.

Men spent almost twice as much as women, spending an average of $176; women, meanwhile spent an average of $89.

The study also found 32% of people plan on buying flowers this year, 26% will buy candy or chocolates, 13% will buy jewelry, 9% will buy lingerie and 6% will buy gift baskets.

Not surprisingly, that more people are turning to their mobile devices to search for Valentine’s Day gifts. Year over year, mobile devices saw a 75% rise in flower searches, while computers and tablets only increased by only 1%. Lingerie increased by a whopping 81% on mobile devices, but only 3% through computers and tablets.

And if you haven’t bought anything yet, you’re not alone: The study said last year, Valentine's Day spending peaked on February 13th.
