How Well Do You Know Your Minnesota Words and Phrases?

Do Minnesotans really have their own unique words and phrases? You betcha! See how well you do on this Minnesota Words Test.

Now, while I've been living here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes for the past 5 years, I'm actually from Wisconsin-- and even I did well on this test of Minnesota words.

For the record, I took the test, compiled by the gang at BuzzFeed, and went 9 out of 10. (And the question I got wrong, I still actually knew-- I just didn't read all the answers thoroughly enough, and clicked on the wrong answer in haste.) And, according to the test, still said I was "...definitely a Minnesotan-- and that's the best thing a person can be!"

I don't disagree there. And even having grown up outside Minnesota, many of these words and phrases are similar to the slang I was exposed to in my hometown back in central Wisconsin. Maybe that makes me an honorary Minnesotan?
