If You Love Pets, You’ll Love Rochester’s ‘New Leash On Life’ Walk
It's a fantastic event that'll help you get some exercise and help raise money for two groups in our area: It's the New Leash On Life and it's coming up on Saturday, September 23rd!
This is the 8th annual New Leash On Life with Zumbro Valley Health Centers, and I can't wait to take part. It's happening Saturday, September 23rd at Silver Lake Park in Rochester. It features a 5K run as well as a 3K walk for you... and your dog! It's a way-cool event focused on informing people about the benefits pets have on people's mental and physical health.
And the best part is that all the proceeds benefit two great groups: Zumbro Valley Health Centers and Camp Companion, a non-profit based here in Rochester that provides animal rescue and adoption services to hundreds of animals every year. (One of our cats-- Huck-- is a Camp Companion alumni, so I know the great work they do!)
So, if you're always battling to get those 10,000 steps a day in (like I am), and you love animals (like I do), this is the event to take part in! You can register online HERE right now, or starting at 9 a.m. on the 23rd. The walk/run will get rolling at 10 a.m.
According to Zumbro Valley Health Centers, last year, hundreds of people and dogs "raised more than $30,000 to improve the lives of people living with a mental illness. And this year, our goal is to raise $50,000."
Get signed up today! I'll see you there!
