Minnesota is having a moment as of late when it comes to Hollywood. Many movies have filmed here over the past few years, including a few Hulu and Hallmark hits, and it seems like we are having a little moment in the sun.

Now, there's an incredible Minnesota connection on one of the biggest, if not the biggest, shows on television. If you're a fan of The Pitt, you will love this.

All About 'The Pitt' & Why It's The Biggest Show On Television Right Now

The show is on HBO Max, and is being hailed as the most realistic medical show on television. The show follows a group of medical professionals in a fictional hospital in Pittsburgh and the challenges they face.

What makes this show so much different from medical dramas of the past is that each episode follows one shift at the hospital, rather than the storylines taking place over the course of days, weeks or months.

'The Pitt' Has A Major Minnesota Connection

I saw this on Facebook the other day and thought it was so cool! M Health Fairview took to social media to share the cool news: one of their doctors is a consultant on the show! He works at the Lakes Medical Center emergency room.

As a consultant, the doctor is responsible for making sure the show is as accurate as possible. Of course, it's still a television show so there will be some creative liberties taken, but he makes sure what is shown on the monitors is realistic, who in the room is realistic and helps shape how the medical teams work together.

So how did he become a consultant? Dr. Lentz worked in the television industry for about a decade before going to medical school, which he attended in California, followed by a residency there. He is also a part-time assistant professor at UCLA, meaning he has never been too far from Hollywood.

According to an interview with the doctor, he saw his friend post about the show looking for consultants and the rest is history. He's the perfect fit for so many reasons. I can't wait to finish the show and even more so now with this Minnesota connection.
