Teen Boy Taken to Hospital After Being Hit by Car While Riding a Bike at Mower County Interchange
Austin, MN (KROC-AM News)- A teenage boy was taken to a hospital after he was hit by a car while riding his bike at a southeast Minnesota interchange.

It happened in Mower County shortly before 5:00 Wednesday afternoon. The vehicle involved was a Volkswagen Beetle.
The State Patrol responded to the traffic incident at the Interstate 90/Hwy. 56 interchange, which is just over five miles east of Austin.
Authorities identified the bike rider as a 14-year-old boy from Austin. The teen was taken to Mayo Clinic Austin with what are being described as non-life-threatening injuries.
It’s not known if the teen boy was wearing a helmet, the state crash report says.
39-year-old Lina Dora Lopez of LeRoy was identified as the driver of the car. She was not hurt.
Lopez and the teen bicyclist were both traveling south on Hwy. 56 when they collided. Alcohol was not involved in the car-bike crash, according to the state report.
The Mower County Sheriff’s Office, Rose Creek Fire and Mayo Clinic Ambulance also responded to the scene.
