
Update Issued on Investigation Into House Fire That Claimed the Lives of Popular MN Sports Personality & Her Children

White Bear Lake, MN (MinnesotaNow)- Officials have shared an update into the investigation of a tragic fire that took lives of a beloved Minnesota sports personality and her three children over the weekend.

37-year-old Jessi Pierce and her children, Hudson, Cayden and Avery perished when their home in White Bear Lake started on fire Saturday morning.
The family’s dog also died in the blaze.
Pierce was a well-known sports personality in Minnesota. She covered the Minnesota Wild for NHL.com and was the co-host of the “Bardown Beauty” podcast.
Her death prompted tributes throughout the sports world over the weekend.
Preliminary information released by the White Bear Lake Fire Department said responding firefighters encountered a “fully-involved fire” when they responded to the family’s home around 5:30 Saturday morning.
Crews found the bodies of Pierce and her children when they entered the residence.

White Bear Lake Fire Department Provides Update on Investigation Into Fire That Claimed Lives of Jessi Pierce, Her Children & Their Dog
On Monday the fire department released preliminary findings of their investigation. Officials indicate no evidence that suggests fire was intentionally set has been found, however the investigation remains ongoing.
“Alongside the Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office, we are dedicating all possible resources to this investigation,” the statement says.
Officials say they will release the cause of the tragic fire and additional information upon completion of the investigation.
Fundraiser Started for Family
A GoFundMe fundraiser was launched on Sunday for Jessi’s husband Mike, who was out of town at the time of the fire.
“Jessi had a larger-than-life personality and an even bigger heart. She was devoted to her family, going above and beyond to create many moments of joy and everlasting memories,” the fundraiser says.
Jessi and Mike’s children also shared “Jessi's zest for life and love for adventure,” according to the GoFundMe site.
Money raised by the fundraiser will go towards funeral costs and providing the family financial support. So far the Columbus Blue Jackets NHL team and an anonymous donor have contributed $10,000 and the NFL Players Association donated $5,000.
