Minnesota Snubbed on ‘Best Cities For St. Patrick’s Day’ List
We're good a celebrating a lot of things here in Minnesota, but our plans for St. Patrick's Day apparently aren't good enough for one national survey.
Living in Minnesota is great in many ways, right? We know how to celebrate the holidays, including St. Patrick's Day, which is only a week away from next Tuesday. But according to THIS national survey from the gang over at WalletHub, Minnesota ISN'T one of the best places to get your green on.
They're out with their annual 'Best Cities For St. Patrick's Day' list and there's not ONE Minnesota entry listed in their top twenty cities. Are you kidding me? Have you even HEARD of St. Paul?!? Spending St. Patrick's Day downtown in Minnesota's capital city is quite the experience! It rivals even some of the biggest St. Patrick's Day celebrations, no doubt because of St. Paul's strong Irish heritage
But it's not good enough for this year's list, though. WalletHub's number-one city for St. Patty's Day is Chicago (where they dye the Chicago River green) followed by Boston, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Tampa. Those are mostly understandable (except for Tampa-- have you heard of a big Irish celebration there?!?) but St. Paul ought to be included in that list, if you ask me.
In fact, ExploreMinnesota.com (the state's tourism website) has an entire section of festive St. Patrick's Day happenings going on across the Land of 10,000 Lakes, from Minneapolis and St. Paul to New Ulm, Stillwater, St. Cloud and even right here in the Med City. (You can check it out HERE.)
Given all those festivities, we totally deserve to be on that list, right?!?
