Fairgoers to the Great Minnesota Get Together will be rocking to the sounds of some summer classics at the 2022 state fair. Organizers just announced that The Beach Boys have been added to the grandstand lineup. Mike Love's Beach Boys will share the stage Monday, August 29 with The Temptations and Tower of Power.

The Minnesota State Fair website says the iconic American band is celebrating over sixty years of music, "As The Beach Boys mark more than a half-century of making music, the group continues to ride the crest of a wave unequaled in America’s musical history. The Beach Boys – who have become synonymous with the California lifestyle and an American icon to fans around the world – will bring their “Sixty Years of the Sounds of Summer” tour to cities all over the world."

The number of records sold and performance appearances by The Beach Boys over the last sixty years is staggering, "The Beach Boys have sold more than 100 million records worldwide and have received more than 33 Recording Industry Association of America platinum and gold record awards. The Rock & Roll Hall of Famers were also honored at the 2001 Grammy Awards with the Lifetime Achievement Award. With more than five decades of touring under their belts, The Beach Boys have performed more concerts than any major rock band in history," according to the Minnesota State Fair home page.

Tickets for The Beach Boys become available Friday, May 20 at 10 am.
