Minnesota State Fair Announces Fall Food Parade
A total of 19,000 cars traveled through the first Minnesota State Fair Food Parade which took place in late August and early September. One of our coworkers attended and wrote about her experience here. Fair officials and vendors were thrilled with the event's success - one vendor reported selling 16,000lbs of turkey! - now round two has been announced.
The Minnesota State Fair's Fall Food Parade will happen Oct. 1-4 and Oct. 8-11. The fair's website says, " A limited number of vehicle tickets will be sold for this event. Each vehicle ticket is $20 (plus $5 in fees, sales tax included) and covers up to 5 people per car (ages 5+), with proceeds supporting Minnesota State Fair operations in a year when the cancellation of the fair leaves us without nearly all of our revenue to maintain our facilities and prepare for next year’s fair."
Tickets for this food parade will be sold using a lottery system. If you want the chance to buy a ticket you need to register for the vehicle lottery by noon on Thursday, Sept. 17th. Those selected in the lottery will be able to purchase one vehicle ticket.
The vendors for the Fall Food Parade will include:
- Turkey to Go by MN Turkey Growers
- Fresh French Fries
- Mouth Trap Cheese Curds
- Que Viet
- Sweets & Treats
- Pronto Pups
- Tom Thumb Donuts
- West Indies Soul Food

- Butcher Boys/Pitchfork Sausage
- Cheese On-A-Stick and Fresh-Squeezed Lemonade
