Red Wing Man Charged With Raping Stewartville Teenager
Stewartville, MN (KROC AM News) - A Red Wing man has been charged with raping a Stewartville teenager who says they met on Facebook.
Two counts of criminal sexual conduct (1st and 3rd degree) have been filed against 23-year-old Jason Benson.
He was charged after the 17-year-old girl told an Olmsted County detective about the incident she said happened in September. The girl said Benson picked her up at her house and after driving around, he drove to Bear Creek Park where he raped her twice in the vehicle and also tied her hands behind her back and tied her feet together. He then drove her home.
The girl later told her mother, who contacted the sheriff’s office.
According to the criminal complaint, Benson “admitted to having sex with the victim at Bear Cave Park, but said his memory was not very good” and that “he used zip ties, but it was consensual because they had a conversation about it.”
His next court appearance is scheduled for December.
