Rochester, MN (KROC AM) – A Rochester business is reporting a burglary that included the attempted heist of a safe.

The break-in occurred last week at AVB Diagnostics in the 500 block of 9th Ave NW.

The owner arrived around 6:00 AM Thursday to find the business safe outside the building.

Police say it appears the burglar gained entrance through a window. It also appears another person was helping load the safe into a vehicle when they were apparently scared off, leaving it behind.

The owner later discovered a scanner worth $8,000 was missing.
