Rochester City Council Approves Hyatt House Project
Rochester, MN AM News) - The Rochester City Council approved the final plan for one development project but delayed a vote on another one during its Monday evening meeting.
The council gave unanimous approval to the proposed Hyatt House project that is planned for the former American Legion site along Civic Center Dr. The project calls for an eight-story hotel with 172 rooms and commercial space. The council earlier approved tax increment financing for the project totaling $3.9-million.
Meanwhile, the council hit the pause button on the so-called 324 Apartments project proposed for the northeast corner of 1st Ave and 4th St SW. Some council members were concerned about parking issues. The project is scheduled to come back for another vote at the council’s Feb 20th meeting. The project calls for 50 residential units and commercial space.
