Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Yes, it was a cold Tuesday morning in Rochester - the coldest October morning in more than 30 years.

The city’s official temperature fell to 11 degrees, which broke the record low of 13 for Oct. 27, set way back in 1936.

The last time it was this cold or colder in October was Oct 30, 1988, when the low temperature was also 11 degrees.

Normal low temperatures in the Rochester area during late October are in the low to mid-30s. Temperatures this cold normally are experienced in mid-December.

Although a gradual warmup is expected in coming days, temperatures are still going to be below average through Sunday.
