Rochester Man Among Dozens Injured in Storm Related Crashes
Pine Island, MN (KROC-AM News) - One of the dozens of weather-related injury crashes that occurred across Minnesota yesterday sent a Rochester man to St. Marys Hospital. The State Patrol says 40-year-old Thomas Klees was driving north on Highway 52 about three miles north of Pine Island when he lost control and his Jeep crashed in the ditch around 3:45 PM. His injuries were described as non-life threatening.
Another injury crash was reported near Albert Lea. The State Patrol says a woman from Arizona was a passenger in a semi-truck that slid into the median on I-35 and rolled just before 3 PM. 49-year-old Angeline Kridler of Phoenix was transported to the Mayo Clinic Health System Hospital in Albert Lea with non-life threatening injuries.
The State Patrol says nearly 40 people were injured in the nearly 550 crashes reported across Minnesota between 5 AM and 9:30 PM. There were also around 800 vehicle spinouts reported and around 20 reports of jackknifed semi-trucks.
