According to WCCO-TV a child was rushed to the hospital this morning after allegedly being pushed or thrown from the 3rd floor balcony at The Mall of America. Witness Brian Johnson who was at the mall at the time said he heard a woman screaming "Everyone pray, everyone pray. Oh my God, my baby, someone threw him over the edge,'”

Bloomington Police reported that the child who was injured is 5 years old and was sent to Children's Hospital In Minneapolis and his family is there with him. The Police Chief believes this was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public. Bloomington Police are working with the Hennepin County Sheriffs Office Crime Lab and also with mall security reviewing any surveillance video of the incident.

A source at the scene told WCCO that the person who threw, or possibly pushed, the child fled the mall and was apprehended near the light rail station.The suspect is a 24-year-old man, who was not  identified. Police also said they do not believe the man to have been related to the victim at this time. This is a developing story.
