It's one of the hottest shows on TV during the summer, and the Med City will have TWO hometown athletes competing on American Ninja Warrior this year!

We've already followed Rochester's own American Ninja Warrior, Roo Yori, in his spectacular rookie season last year. (Heck -- he not only shredded the city qualifying course in Indianapolis, he made it all the way to the finals!)

Well, Roo (who's known as the K9 Ninja, for his tireless work promoting animal adoption for homeless dogs) announced earlier this year that, yes, he'll be back competing in this year's competition.

And, now, according to this Post-Bulletin story, Rochester will have a second Ninja Warrior for whom we can cheer! Dr. Candace Granberg, a doctor at Mayo Clinic here in Rochester, got the call to let her know she'll be competing on the show, too!

The story says Dr. Granberg was actually on a medical mission trip to Haiti when producers got in touch with her. She'll be competing during the Denver city competition later this summer on the show.

So, a big shout-out to both Rochester's American Ninja Warriors! I find their level of athleticism incredible -- especially considering they both have regular 'day jobs' and other responsibilities they have to undertake -- unlike some of the Ninjas who appear to train for the competition full-time.

We'll be watching and cheering for you later this summer! And check out what Roo told us about appearing on the show when he stopped by the Quick Country studios last summer...
