Rochester Police Recover Stolen Gun From Suspected Drunk Driver

Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Reports of an erratic driver yesterday led to the arrest of an Austin man on what a Rochester police official described as a "laundry list of charges."
Lieutenant Tom Faudskar says officers responded to the 600 block of Civic Center Drive shortly before 11:30 Thursday morning after dispatchers received reports of a very erratic driver. After observing the vehicle driving into the curb multiple times, Faudskar says an officer initiated a traffic stop and found an extremely intoxicated man in the driver seat.
The arrest report says 27-year-old Demonterious Jackson refused a DUI test and was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana, as well as a handgun that had been reported stolen in Austin.
Jackson was booked into the Olmsted County jail on a list of charges, including two felony counts involving the handgun. One is possession of stolen property and the other is for illegal possession of a firearm. He is also expected to face misdemeanor DUI and drug possession charges.
