Significant Heroin Dealer Arrested in Rochester
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Rochester police have arrested two people after making one of the biggest heroin busts in city history.
Police Capt. John Sherwin says 35-year-old Antonio Beasley had been under surveillance as a suspected dealer and he was spotted driving his car around 2:30 Wednesday morning. Sherwin says officers found 215 grams of heroin in the vehicle.
Officers later went to a residence in the 1700 block of 8 ½ St SE and found another 5 grams of heroin. A woman who was there, 33-year-old Tara Mitchell, was arrested.
Sherwin says Beasley is considered a “significant dealer” who is possibly linked to some recent heroin overdoses in the Rochester area. Sherwin says he is also suspected of selling to other dealers in the area.
The value of the seized heroin has been put at more than $40,000. An individual dose is a tenth of a gram and sells for $20.
