Snow And Cold Air Headed To Southeast Minnesota

Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Driving conditions in southeast Minnesota deteriorated early Monday as light freezing drizzle began falling.

The National Weather Service says the precipitation should gradually end but falling temperatures are expected through Monday afternoon.

And then, another round of snow is in the forecast for Tuesday.

Areas in southeast Minnesota could receive 2 - 4 inches by Tuesday evening and then the coldest weather of the season will move in for the rest of the week.

Low temps Thursday morning may fall below zero for the first time since the Polar vortex that hit the region in February.

High temps Thursday and Friday will only rise into the teens and lows Sunday morning could be around  5-below and highs may only be in the single digits.

A major winter storm is affecting a large part of northern Minnesota Monday where several inches of snow are being reported. A blizzard warning is in effect for the North Shore where a foot or more could fall by Monday afternoon.
