Southern Minnesota Mechanics Find & Rescue A Dog Thrown Away

Sometimes it takes a bad experience to happen for something good/positive to be born. For instance, a couple of service team members are Midas in Shakopee, who found a backpack in their dumpster, and stuffed inside that backpack was a puppy. Needlessly these guys rescued the thrown-away dog, and since then have found a home for the dog, where he seems to be receiving the love and attention that he deserves.

A post by the Shakopee Police Department on Thursday detailed the events of the thrown-away puppy being found.

This sweet little guy was found this morning thrown out in a backpack placed in a dumpster. Thankfully, the team at Midas Auto Repair noticed something amiss and pulled him out. He’s being very well taken care of and getting all the love today!

Though this story had a happy ending, it could have gone a lot differently. If you’re a pet owner who needs to surrender an animal, we encourage you to do it humanely. Yesterday the Shakopee Police Department gave a happy update on the found puppy.

Update: We have spoken with Reed from Midas, who says the community has been generous with donation offers and an outpouring of support. Right now Puppy Midas has everything he needs (including a home!), so Reed and the team ask that any donations be directed to your favorite animal-focused charity.

We love to see a happy ending for this sweet pup! A check-up at the vet showed the puppy, now appropriately named "Midas", had a fractured jaw and a bacterial infection, but he's on antibiotics now and will make a full recovery - Shakopee Police Department.

A special thank you to the Midas in Shakopee for stepping up and saving that puppy, and to the Shakopee Police for reminding people that we should be treating our pets kindly and humanely, and not simply throwing them away inside of a bag like common trash.
