Stewartville, MN (KROC AM News) - A Stewartville man ended up in jail for an incident involving a bottle of rum.

The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office says the incident happened Tuesday evening at the Honest Liquor store in Stewartville.

A spokesman says 24-year-old Izack Wells-Crockett tried to buy some beer but his credit cards would not process the purchase. As Wells-Crockett began to leave, he grabbed a bottle of rum and ran to his car. The clerk went after him and when he tried to grab the bottle, Wells-Crockett pushed him and threatened to punch him. Moments later, the $30 bottle of rum fell to the ground and broke and Wells-Crockett drove off.

A deputy later checked surveillance video at the store and was able to identify Wells-Crockett as the suspect and he was arrested. He was arraigned Thursday on a felony simple robbery charge and one count of 5th-degree assault.
