Yes, the last Minnesota location for Joe's Crab Shack quietly closed its doors earlier this month in Roseville. And according to this GO-MN story, it wasn't the only location shuttered: The story says more than 40 Joe's locations across the country have up and closed since Friday, August 11th.

Seeing as the only Minnesota location of Joe's Crab Shack was in Roseville, I don't believe I'd ever eaten there. I did, though, eat at a Joe's once. I think it was about 10 years in Cincinnati, during a baseball road trip a buddy and I were taking.

It was OK, but it didn't do much for me. Of course, I'm not a huge fan of crab legs (although I do admit to watching the show 'Deadliest Catch' on Discovery every summer). I don't know about you, but I can never get the crab meat out without a big hassle, and when I do, it's usually cold by then. So, this closing won't bother me too much.

The story says, though, that if YOU'RE a big fan of Joe's, you'll have to head south to get your fix, as the Joe's Crab Shack in West Des Moines, Iowa, (which, according to Google Maps, is about 224 miles away from Rochester) appears to be the closest location to us still open.
