Now that it is summertime, it is also time to watch out for those heat wave days. As we just had some very hot and high record days recently passed us, I began to wonder what are some fun things to do while it is hot outside. Even though we as Minnesotans never get a chance to enjoy the outside, some days are too hot to just bask in the sun. So with that, here is a list of things to do when it is wicked hot!

  1. Go to a movie

what is fun and something we haven’t been able to do recently is going to a movie. Movie theaters tend to blast the air conditioning as you sit and watch a new blockbuster movie.

  1. Have some sort of water activity

Whether you go to a beach, have a slip n slide content, water balloon fight, or even check out an outdoor or indoor water park, get the chance to enjoy the warm weather with a side of cool water or a chance to just hanging out and enjoy a waterslide, this is definitely a must for when it is warm out.

  1. Have a late-night picnic

While it is nice to have a picnic during the summer, if it’s too hot, a picnic is never enjoyable. However, once the sun starts to set the weather cools down. Try having a late dinner picnic or even a picnic to enjoy some nice deserts. This way you can enjoy the outside, maybe watch a sunset, and still get your picnic time in!

  1. Go stargazing

Another thing to do outside, but not when the sun is at its peak in the sky is to go stargazing. Grab a blanket and find a spot in your backyard. Or if that is not an option drive to a spot where you know you can park and spend some time just looking at the sky and enjoying the simplicity.

  1. Spend a day at a large mall or a museum

Another place to go with air conditioning that is not your house is either a mall or a museum. This way you can spend a period of time either shopping, eating food, learning something new, or just observing wonderful art.
