First, it was record-setting snow and now Rochester has a chance to set another weather record, this time dealing with our temperatures Tuesday morning.

Living in Minnesota, we're used to dealing with cold and snow. But do we have to deal with it so soon here in October?!? Rochester already set not one, but two different records for the most snowfall ever on both Tuesday, October 20th, and on Sunday, October 25th. Granted, we didn't get a lot of snow by Minnesota winter standards, but still, 2 inches of snow in mid-October is still enough to set two new records.

And, now comes word that we could set ANOTHER Rochester weather record Tuesday morning, this time for the coldest morning EVER in the Med City here in October. The National Weather Service in La Crosse already noted that the weather this past week has been pretty nippy. In fact, they said that Sunday (October 25th) marked 7 days that the temperature had been below 40 degrees in Rochester-- a new record. The last record was 6 days with high temperatures below 40 degrees between October 22nd and October 27th... in 1887!

The record low temperature for October 27th here in Rochester is 17 degrees, set back in 1976. The NWS says our forecast for a low of 16 degrees overnight Monday into Tuesday, which could, in fact, give us a new record low. Oh boy!

The good news is that it looks like there will be a warm-up as we head through the week and we could see high temperatures in the 50's by the time Halloween rolls around this weekend. (You can always get the latest forecast and real-time traffic updates anytime on our Quick Country 96.5 app!)

And, just because the cold and snow decided to show up early this year in Minnesota doesn't mean we have to dread it. Winter can actually be kind of fun-- depending on how you look at it. Keep scrolling to check out 10 ways to make winter way less miserable in Minnesota this year...
