Wabasha, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Wabasha Police Department is reporting an end-of-summer tragedy in the small Mississippi River community.

Wabasha Police Chief Joe Stark says a teenager on a skateboard was killed last night. He says the 15-year-old girl was struck by a vehicle at an intersection along Grant Boulevard next to Isaac Walton Park around 10 PM. Stark says Wabasha police officers and other emergency personnel attempted life-saving measures but the girl was pronounced dead at the Wabasha hospital.

Her name, the name of the vehicle’s driver, and other details about the tragic incident have not been released.
