Check out the new bank that is opening soon in Rochester, Minnesota
I was driving over to Home Depot over the weekend and happened to see out of the corner of my eye a new sign that was up in an open area by the newer HyVee. It was right next to the new dental office that I wrote about in August.
Wings Financial Credit Union is opening soon in Rochester, but what is it?
In case you are newbie to this bank like I am, I did a little bit of research to see what Wings Financial Credit Union is all about. Here's what I found:
- They have locations in Minnesota, Michigan, Florida, Georgia, and Washington
- It started in 1938.
- It was originally charted by 7 Northwest Airlines employees.
- Technically a credit union is not the same as a bank.
- Learn more at their website here.
Wings Financial was originally chartered by 7 Northwest Airlines employees who recognized the value of a cooperative financial institution where members help each other succeed financially. In this cooperative spirit, Wings is a not-for-profit financial institution where members are also owners. All earnings are reinvested in the credit union in the form of higher savings yields, lower loan rates, fewer and lower fees – as well as in-person, mobile and online service options.
Today, Wings gives flight to over 320,000 members’ dreams worldwide. While members often remark that Wings has a small community feel, we have the size and scale to offer superior pricing and service. At over $7.5 billion in assets, Wings is Minnesota’s largest credit union and ranks among the nation’s top 40 credit unions. - Wings Financial Credit Union website
