See those cute coats? Those and all other age/sized coats are just what the Salvation Army needs during their annual Community Coat Drive, which IS going on now.

According to Rebecca Snap, Director of Community Engagement at the Rochester Salvation Army, says "In 2018, The Salvation Army distributed over 500 winter coat vouchers, many of them resulting in winter coats for an entire family."

The drive for new or gently used coats to help the Salvation Army keep people warm this winter has been going on since September 26th, but with the Thrift Stores closed, they've been getting calls asking if there IS a coat drive this year.

"Yes, yes, and yes," says Snap. "We have plenty of collection locations to make donation super easy."

Donation locations include:

We all know how brutal winter can be, especially after last winter. Please, tell your friends, share this story, let everyone know the coat drive IS ON and they sure need the new or gently used coats.

If you need a coat, please stop by the Community Center at 20 NE First Avenue in Rochester between 8 AM and 4 PM from now until the 30th. You don't need an appointment, just walk right in. Community members must fill out an application and provide and ID in order to receive a voucher and a scheduled time to select a coat on October 30.
