A month ago, I was wondering, and a little worried, about how I was going to keep my kids entertained this summer. We're a very active family and at that time it didn't look like there would be much for us to do this summer. Thankfully, things are starting to reopen. Several area pools will be reopening, Chester Woods is opening their beach to the public, and now we’re learning that the Zollman Zoo at Oxbow Park will reopen to the public on Saturday.

Visitors are asked to practice social distancing and the zoo recommends masks. Olmsted County’s website explains the Zoo will be open but closing an hour earlier than normal each day and the Oxbow Park Nature Center will not be opening. Restrooms that will be open in Oxbow Park picnic areas.
If you love the outdoors, you’ll find plenty of stuff to keep you busy at Oxbow Park. You can hike, fish, or simply enjoy a picnic with your family. Oxbow’s campground is open. They have 30-campsites with running water, restrooms, and showers available. If you want to camp you are asked to plan ahead – you can reserve a spot here.
