Well, it didn't take long for the glow of the holidays to fade before Old Man Winter gave us our first blizzard of the season yesterday. While we can't change the winter weather here in southeastern Minnesota, we can at least enjoy the beauty of the season with a little prose.

I can't claim to have written this literary work of art and a quick online Google search didn't provide out who the actual author is, but see if you don't identify with this little poem:

A Minnesota Winter Poem (author unknown)

It's winter in Minnesota,
And the gentle breezes blow.
Nearly 50 miles an hour
At twenty-five below.

Oh, how I love Minnesota,
When the snow's up to your butt.
You take a breath of winter air,
And your nose gets frozen shut.

Yes, winter here is wonderful.
So I guess I'll hang around.
I could never leave Minnesota
Because I'm frozen to the ground.
