If you're married, one of the questions you usually hear (in addition to, "How did you guys meet?") is, "How did he propose?" And this Minnesota man now has a pretty good answer.

According to a story in the South Washington County Bulletin, Matthew Pitoscia, 23, proposed to his girlfriend, Katie Borner, also 23, over the weekend...by using a fake traffic stop, thanks to the assistance of Cottage Grove police.

The story says that Pitoscia called Bornier to say he had a flat tire and that she should head out to help him. In the mean time, he was waiting along the route-- along with a Cottage Grove police car. Pitoscia gambled that Bornier would be speeding on her way to get him, and he was right.

Police pulled her over, and she was asked to step out of the car. When she did, she found Pitoscia, down on one knee, who then popped the big question.

Now THAT'S quite the proposal!  How'd he get it all set up?

The story says, "Pitoscia purchased the ring in May, but found the perfect opportunity Saturday when he came across officer Clare Boyle, who was parked in her squad outside the fire station on 80th Street. He walked up to me and said he wanted me to help him propose to his girlfriend. So I said, ‘When?’ and he said, ‘Today,’” Boyle said, adding that in her 11 years with the police department she has never had a request like that. “I was more than happy to do this because I’m a sucker for romance.”

And, in case you're curious about a possible misuse of police resources, BringMeTheNews.com says, "The officers involved told the Star Tribune the stunt took just a few minutes and that they were available during the traffic stop to respond to an emergency if one had come up."
