When most of us working stiffs take a new job, it's probably because it offers more responsibility or a better chance for us to grow professionally. It also (hopefully) includes better pay, too. But that's only if you take the job, right? Well, not if you're this CEO.

Yes, this executive stands to make nearly $2 million dollars to NOT take his new position. Can you believe it? The guy's name is Elio Leoni Sceti, and according to a story from CNBC, he stands to make $1.8 million dollars in a 'severance payment' from a cosmetics company -- despite never even setting foot in the company's headquarters or having worked even a single day.

The story says Sceti has 'reconsidered' and won't be joining cosmetics and fragrance maker Coty as its CEO. And even though he's not taking the job, that won't mean he's not getting paid. According to the story, he's getting a pretty hefty payment as part of an odd agreement the two parties worked out.

"Coty said the severance payment, which is equal to one year's salary, was part of the employment agreement Leoni Sceti signed with Coty in April. The company will also pay about $55,000 to buy back the preferred stock."

Geez, he's making almost $2 million to NOT work. While I love what I do, it looks like I'm definitely in the wrong business. I can't imagine my boss would pay me anything -- much less $2 million -- to not work. Must be nice!
