According to shopping site PureWow, there are some items that almost always end up on sale during the month of April here in Minnesota. So what's bargain-priced this month?

Sneakers -- Does anyone call them "sneakers" anymore? Either way, if you could use a new pair of running or walking shoes, the site says this month you can usually find them on sale. "It’s mainly tied to the weather," the site says, "and the fact that brands know that now’s the time of year that people are gearing up to do a 10K."

Jackets -- April means it's getting too warm for those winter coats, so if you're looking for a new spring jacket, you're in luck! The site says stores are already making way for summer merchandise, so those jackets will usually hit the sales rack.

Kitchen items -- Just in time for Mother's Day and wedding season, the site says don't be surprised if you find some kitchen items, like pots and pans, discounted nearly 40 percent.

Car tune-ups -- Yay! You car made it through another Minnesota winter, and if you want to make sure it's running right as we head into warmer weather (and the vacation season), car care shops have dubbed April National Car Care Month, meaning you'll typically find savings on things like oil changes or tires.

Vacations -- Your kids might already be on Spring Break, but April is a great month to book a vacation. It's still considered "off-season" in most destinations, so prices and airfares are usually cheaper, but the weather has warmed up in many areas that make April a great time to get away!
